Records obtained by The Marshall Project reveal a state discipline system that fails to hold many guards accountable


All in the family in New York corrections. Daniel Martuscello III is now acting commissioner of the state’s sprawling prison system. His brother and sister were just named assistant commissioners. There’s little reason to think these officials are going to be change agents for a department known for its lack of accountability and transparency.
